I cannot help but note the problems attending George W. Bush's quest to remake Iraq and the Middle East in the image of Western Democracy. Given the way the latter is going, I can think of one constructive way to deal with the trial of Saddam Hussein, scheduled to begin shortly. Convict Hussein and sentence him to become president of the new Iraq.
