Subject: Martial law would solve problem
Oh, the hemming and hawing continues: What to do about Homecoming at Queen's University, now reputedly the top party school in the Western Hemisphere (tied with the University of Buenos Aires)?
Short of halting the entry of white males into Queen's for a decade, a suggestion I made last year, martial law would be a solid, constructive step in the right direction. Anyone under 25 would have to be off the streets during Homecoming week from Thursday through Sunday between 7 p. m. and 8 a. m. This would take care of the problem very quickly and let everyone know that the city and university have had enough of students breaking all sorts of laws in their celebratory rites.
Martial law is an extreme measure, to be sure, but these loutish transgressors waive their civil liberties when they step over the line. The few ruin it for the many. Perhaps the many might take more interest in the activities of their inebriated classmates.
