Subject: Irish sports page
Sandra Martin is dead on in arguing for the need to surmount technology and retain the special flavour of well-constructed obituaries. This reader used to turn to the sports pages as a young man. Now, perhaps because of advancing years, it's the Irish sports page -- the obits. There's far more action there than in any descriptions of the achievements of the Argos, Raptors, and Leafs. Indeed, these teams seem far deader than the recently deceased loved ones who grace the Globe and Mail obit pages
