The strike at York University shows a lack of creative energy and commitment on both sides of the aisle. Yes, as parent Susan Purvis points out, students do suffer, terribly (More Than Just A Number - letters, Jan. 23). But her assessment of the union's position, as part of the 1960s, is off the mark. In that much-condemned decade, the students would be striking and the union and administration suffering.
